Wayzata Boys Tennis Champs Play In All Weather

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - Paying the price in Minnesota means playing through the cold.

Maybe that's why the Wayzata's boys tennis team is searching for a three-peat, and their No. 1 player is defending his title.

On a cold day, they gather to practice tennis.

"We know that it's Minnesota weather and we can't control it," coach Jeff Prondzinski said.

In the middle of the cold court is an individual champion who will play at Michigan. Nick Beaty is back after winning it all last year, a goal that required perseverance.

"I had to compete really hard, and I felt really tired by the end of it," Beaty said, "But to win it all at the end -- felt great to have that payoff."
