Police: Woman Rescued After Falling In Water While Chasing Dog

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A woman who fell into the water in Duluth while trying to catch her dog was rescued by responding officers and fire crews.

According to Duluth Police, someone witness the woman fall into the water off of Park Point, which is between Superior Bay and Lake Superior.

A number of crews responded to the scene, and they were able to pull the woman from the frigid water thanks to someone using a pair of jumper cables from their vehicle.

She was treated at the scene. Police said she was released on the scene.

Police said the man who had the jumper cables and initially saw the woman go into the water "was in the right place at the right time to save this individual's life."
