Water Main Break Causes Flooding In Robbinsdale

ROBBINSDALE, Minn. (AP) -- Officials are rerouting traffic in Robbinsdale after a major water main break flooded a busy road.

Water flooded County Road 9 on Thursday night and was knee-deep in some areas. Officials say a 3-foot pipe burst.

Crews contained the break Thursday and were expected to be on scene through Thursday night. It's unclear how much water spilled out.

The Star Tribune reports the city has been tackling problems with water pipes since a water main break in July 2013 created a 20-foot-deep sinkhole. About 600,000 gallons of water leaked from a 3-foot pipe.
