Walsh Tries To Kick Through Slump For Vikings

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) — This is not the way Blair Walsh wants to finish the season.

The Minnesota Vikings kicker is 1 for 6 with field goal attempts over the past two games. His success rate has fallen to 71 percent, the lowest of any regular kicker in the NFL this year.

Walsh went 0 for 3 against Detroit last week, though one field goal try was blocked and another was a long shot of a 68-yarder at the end of the game.

Still, the Vikings lost by two points. Walsh says he can't argue with the numbers and is focused on improvement this Sunday at Miami.

Vikings coach Mike Zimmer says he remains confident in Walsh and won't hesitate to send him out for another long attempt with the game on the line.
