Walker Says He Sees Gaps In Potential 2016 GOP Field
MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker says he sees gaps in the potential field of Republican presidential candidates in 2016.
Walker told WTMJ radio in an interview Wednesday that just like he had concerns about the future of Wisconsin that motivated him to run for governor in 2010, worries he has about the country are causing him to look at a White House bid.
Walker says when he looks at the potential field of candidates, there are "a lot of good people out there but I see gaps."
Walker is riding a wave of attention after giving a well-received speech to conservatives in Iowa on Saturday and then Tuesday making his first concrete step toward a presidential run by announcing a tax-exempt group to raise and spend money.
