Vikings' WR Stefon Diggs Named Rookie Of The Week

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minnesota Vikings' rookie wide receiver Stefon Diggs continues to turn heads in the NFL – even though he's only played two professional games.

On Friday, the Minnesota Vikings announced that the fifth-round pick has been named the Pepsi Rookie of the Week for his performance in the Vikings' victory over the Kansas City Chiefs.

In the game, Diggs caught seven passes for 129 yards. Three of those receptions resulted in more than 20 yards. His biggest catch was a crucial third down and 15 reception in the 4th quarter that netted 30 yards and helped seal the team's victory.

He currently ranks third among all rookie wide receivers with 216 receiving yards this season.

The last Rookie of the Week award for a Viking went to QB Teddy Bridgewater in Week 13 of the 2014 season against the Carolina Panthers.

Diggs, a Maryland native, was chosen 146th overall by Vikings in 2015 NFL Draft.
