Vikings Single-Game Tickets Go On Sale Tuesday
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The halls were empty at Minnesota Vikings ticket headquarters, located on the fifth floor of a building just a block away from where the team's new stadium is being built, early Tuesday morning.
Instead of hundreds of purple-and-gold-clad fans whooping it up for single-game tickets, just one man sat on a table outside the office. Anthony Williams of St. Paul had the day off and arrived about 5:40 a.m. No one else came for more than an hour, and even that was a small handful of people.
"I probably could have slept in a little while, later and still been first in line," Williams said with a laugh.
Williams has come early for tickets before and was never by himself.
"I don't know what's changed, with switching to TCF Bank Stadium I would think there would be more people here," said Williams, sporting a purple Vikings T-shirt. "Who knows."
Williams insists he's alright by himself.
"I'm good, I prefer this," he said. "If no one else comes, that would be great."
Single-game tickets went on sale in person an hour before online sales began. That gives early-birds an advantage on seat selection, and they also don't have to pay taxes associated with buying online. Williams bought for himself and four friends. They'll be attending the Week 4 game against the Atlanta Falcons.
Williams wanted the season opener, but that would have required him to buy tickets to another game as well.
