Vikings Sign Guard Fusco To Contract Extension

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Vikings have signed right guard Brandon Fusco to a contract extension.

The deal was done Saturday, just before the Vikings were scheduled to travel to St. Louis for the season opener Sunday.

Fusco was a sixth-round draft pick out of NCAA Division II Slippery Rock in 2011, who became a starter the next year, when Adrian Peterson rushed for 2,097 yards.

The Vikings kept the same offensive line intact for the third straight season. Fusco is the third of the five members who've signed long-term contracts within the past two years, along with center John Sullivan and right tackle Phil Loadholt.
