Vikings Sign Former Gophers WR Isaac Fruechte

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Vikings announced Monday they've signed undrafted rookie free agent wide receiver Isaac Fruechte.

Fruechte was with the University of Minnesota for the last three seasons after transferring from Rochester Community and Technical College. He's a native of Caledonia, Minn.

Fruechte played in 38 career games for the Gophers, including 18 starts. As a senior, he recorded 292 receiving yards and a touchdown on 18 catches. He was named the team's Wide Receiver of the Year after the season. His best college game was at Illinois where he had three catches for 105 yards and a touchdown.

The Vikings also announced Monday that they waive wide receiver Kain Colter and guard Jesse Somsel.
