Vikings Re-Sign LB Chad Greenway

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway said after the team's playoff loss to Seattle that he didn't want to go out like that on a team that has greater potential.

Greenway kept true to that word as the Vikings announced Monday that they have re-signed him to a 1-year contract. He is returning for his 11th NFL season, all have which have been with the Vikings. His career so far consists of 140 games and 135 starts.

Greenway is a two-time Pro Bowl pick and has led the Vikings in tackles from 2008-13. He's the second defensive player to lead the team in tackles six straight years, with the other being Scott Studwell.

Last year, Greenway finished with 86 tackles, including four for a loss, 2.5 sacks and one interception, which was returned for a touchdown. He currently ranks fourth in team history with 1,289 career tackles.
