Vikings Players Give Kids In Need $100 Shopping Spree

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – After the crowd at TCF Bank Stadium helped the Vikings win another big game over the weekend, players game back to the community Tuesday.

Defensive end Brian Robison held his first "Shop with a Jock" event at the Walmart in Eagan. Homeless, at-risk and neglected children from the Twin Cities got a $100 shopping spree with some of their favorite players.

Sunday's hero, receiver Jarius Wright, was there, and he took kids straight to the video games section.

Robison says he knows he's in a place to make a change in kids' lives.

"Especially around this time, Christmas, I mean there's so many kids that in the areas that don't get the things that they want for Christmas, so this is something that we're able to give back to them and give them a little something to smile about around the holidays," he said.

The Vikings take on the Detroit Lions this Sunday in Detroit.
