Vikings Kicker Blair Walsh Struggling In Preseason

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) — Blair Walsh's new contract with the Minnesota Vikings hasn't helped the kicker iron out the inconsistencies that started to plague him last season.

After going 0 for 3 on field goals against Oakland on Saturday, Walsh is 2 for 6 in the preseason. He also missed an extra point against the Raiders in difficult weather conditions coming off a year in which he made a league-worst 74 percent of his field goals.

Despite his misfires last season, the Vikings still gave him an extension in training camp. Walsh was guaranteed $5.25 million in the new deal.

Walsh says he is making a few tweaks. He remains confident he can get things ironed out before the Vikings open the regular season on Sept. 14.
