Vikings Fans Prepare For Frigid Home Game

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - It's an awfully cold Sunday morning for tailgaters outside TCF Bank Stadium.

Temperatures are fluctuating between nine and 12 degree, but the wind chill brings that down to minus three.

When the game starts at noon, that wind chill will drop to minus five.

Temperatures and the wind chill will continue to drop throughout the game an it'll feel as cold as 10 below zero by the time the game wraps up.

Vikings fans haven't had to deal with such cold weather during a home game since the team played at Met Stadium--more than 30 years ago.

One fan shared favorite tips for staying warm for the team: "You properly hydrate, you properly fill your belly, you got your hot pads on, you're grabbing your closest friend, you're snuggling up."

Another seemed unimpressed by the wind's bitter bite.

"It's relatively warm," he said nonchalantly. "We're Vikings."
