Vikings Everson Griffen Selected To Pro Bowl

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Adrian Peterson is no longer the only member of the Minnesota Vikings headed to the Pro Bowl.

It took another player's injury to get him there, but defensive end Everson Griffen is headed to Hawaii. Griffen is replacing J.J. Watt of the Houston Texans, who cannot play in the game due to injury. It will be Griffen's first career Pro Bowl appearance.

For the second straight year, Griffen recorded double digits in sacks with 10.5, which tied for fourth in the NFL. For the season, he also had 44 tackles, four passes defended, 30 quarterback hurries and one forced fumble.

Over the last two seasons, Griffen ranks sixth in the NFL with 22.5 sacks.

Peterson was named to the Pro Bowl on Sunday. The game will be held at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 31.
