Vikings' Bridgewater Honors Prince With 'Purple Rain' Line Call

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minnesota Vikings' Teddy Bridgewater will have a new codeword when he steps up to the line of scrimmage this fall – and it will honor Prince.

The 23-year-old quarterback's new line call will be "Purple Rain," according to ESPN. It's at least what he was using at the team's first padded practice on Sunday.

"Purple Rain" is the name of Prince's hit single, his 1984 album and his movie.

There are also various pieces of art installed around U.S. Bank Stadium that honor Prince's memory.
