Vikings Announce Joint Practices With Zimmer's Former Team

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Vikings have announced their full training camp schedule, and head coach Mike Zimmer will be seeing some familiar faces at a pair of joint practices.

The Vikings announced joint practices Thursday with the Cincinnati Bengals, Zimmer's former team. He served as the defensive coordinator there from 2008-2013 prior to joining the Vikings.

"I think the joint practices will be great for our young team, especially at that time of training camp," Zimmer said. "Having such a great relationship with [Bengals head coach] Marvin [Lewis] and the Bengals organization, it makes it a perfect fit for us to practice there."

The Bengals and Vikings will practice together in Cincinnati on Aug. 10 and 11 before playing each other in a preseason game at Paul Brown Stadium on Aug. 12.

The joint practices will be free and open to the public.

Vikings training camp begins Thursday, July 28 and runs through Sunday, Aug. 14. For the 51st consecutive year, camp will be held in Mankato on the Minnesota State University, Mankato campus.
