Vikings Add Samia In 4th Round, Cameron Smith In 5th Round

EAGAN, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota Vikings moved up in the fourth round of the NFL draft on Saturday to select Oklahoma offensive lineman Dru Samia with the 114th pick from Seattle.

The Vikings made another trade, moving down in a deal with New England in the fifth and ended up with USC linebacker Cameron Smith at No. 162.

Vikings general manager Rick Spielman is trying to help franchise quarterback Kirk Cousins and an offense that was 20th in yards and 19th in points last season, while the defense posted another top-five finish under coach Mike Zimmer.

Spielman made four trades during Friday's third round. Samia made it four offensive players in Minnesota's first four picks before Smith was selected.
