Victim In N. Mpls. Shooting Identified

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities have identified the man who was shot early Sunday morning on Minneapolis' north side.

According to the Minneapolis Police Department, shortly after midnight officers responded to ShotSpotter activity in the area of 31st and Colfax avenues.

Upon arrival officers found a 21-year-old Gavin Scott Spieker, of Minneapolis, suffering a gunshot wound.

Spieker was brought to North Memorial Medical Center where he later died. A medical examiner declared the cause of death a homicide.
