Victim ID'd In Lake Street-Pleasant Avenue Fatal Shooting

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Authorities have identified the man killed in a Monday afternoon shooting in South Minneapolis.

A report from the Hennepin County Medical Examiner says 61-year-old Abdi Liban was the victim of a homicide, and died of a gunshot wound to the head at around 4:42 p.m. near the intersection of Lake Street and Pleasant Avenue. The scene was less than a mile east of Calhoun Square in Uptown, a busy area in the city.

Police said initial investigations indicate the shooter and the victim knew each other. It was the city's fifth murder in six days.

Minneapolis Police are investigating the incident.
