Veteran Cronin Joins AP Statehouse Team

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- Mike Cronin is joining The Associated Press to report on Minnesota government and politics in St. Paul.

Cronin, 44, has most recently worked at Minnesota Public Radio, where he has been part of the team covering the clergy abuse scandal in the St. Paul-Minneapolis Catholic Archdiocese.

Cronin is a veteran reporter who has worked at Texas Watchdog, The Daily, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, The Arizona Republic and the Bulletin of Bend, Ore. He has a master's in international affairs and international media and communications graduate from Columbia University and a bachelor's graduate from Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland.

Cronin will join St. Paul Correspondent Brian Bakst and reporter Pat Condon in covering the Capitol starting Feb. 17.
