$18M In Upgrades Approved For Area Around New MLS Stadium

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- More than $18 million will go toward improving the area surrounding a Major League Soccer stadium being built in St. Paul.

The city council approved it last night after a public meeting.

The stadium in St. Paul's Midway area will sit on vacant land overlooking I-94.

Construction is expected to start on June 1 if the state legislature approves a tax exemption for the site.
