Up To $7.5K Reward Offered In Illegal Killings Of 3 Minn. Gray Wolves

Update: The Humane Society of the United States and the Humane Society Wildlife Land Trust has offered an additional $5,000 reward in the wolves' deaths.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Officials with the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service say a $2,500 reward has been offered for information that leads to the arrest of whoever is responsible for the killings of three Minnesota gray wolves.

In January, three deceased gray wolves were found together off Highway 8 near Floodwood.

The gray will is currently listed as threatened in Minnesota, and killing a gray wolf is a criminal act punishable by imprisonment of up to six months and a fine of up to $25,000.

Evidence was gathered at the scene and criminal investigation is underway, but authorities need the public's help.
