University Of Minnesota Students To Present Dazzling Light Show

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- More than 200,000 LED lights will be part of a spectacular light show put on this weekend by the University of Minnesota's College of Science and Engineering.

The display is synchronized to music for a 360-degree sensory outdoor experience.

The best part about the show -- other than being free -- is that it is designed and built by university students.

It will be at the Civil Engineering Plaza, near the corner of Pillsbury Drive and Church Street.

There are shows Saturday night at 5:30 p.m., 6 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. It will also be presented next Thursday, Friday and Saturday. There will be hot cocoa, treats and acapella groups on site.

In the video above, Natalie Nyhus and Mike Augustyniak talk with this year's team about what it looks like to put together a show this big.
