UND Goalie Gothberg To Return For Junior Season

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — The goalie who helped lead the University of North Dakota to the NCAA Frozen Four is sticking around.

WDAY-TV reports that Zane Gothberg announced Wednesday night that he will return for his junior season.

Gothberg is from Thief River Falls, Minn., and is a 2010 draft pick of the NHL's Boston Bruins. He was 20-10-3 last season for UND and led the National Collegiate Hockey Conference with a 1.99 goals-against average.

Gothberg on Wednesday was named the NCHC player of the month for March/April. He led the nation in appearances, starts, minutes played and saves during the time period. He tied for the national lead with a pair of shutouts and was second in wins, with six.
