U.S. Attorney Meets With Somali Community To Talk Terror Recruitment

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- There was a second town hall meeting at the Philips Community Center in Minneapolis Saturday to talk about terror recruiting in the Somali community.

U.S. Attorney Andrew Luger and FBI Special Agent Richard Thornton attended the meeting, urging everyone to come together to stop terror recruitment in Minnesota.

"I ask you to work together, to work with the U.S. Attorney's Office, to work with our community, to protect our young people and prevent this from continuing," Thornton added.

Four Minnesota terror suspects will be in Federal Court Tuesday, accused of trying to leave the country to join ISIS. The government says evidence shows the men were recruiting each other.

Some members of the community say the young men were set up by an informant and are innocent.
