MPD: Woman Pushed Into Car After Chasing Cellphone Thieves

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A woman says she was pushed against a car by thieves who had just stolen her cellphone near the University of Minnesota's West Bank campus.

Minneapolis police say the theft happened Wednesday at about 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of Riverside and 20th avenues.

The victim said she was talking on her cellphone when two males approached, one of whom grabbed her phone.

The suspects ran southbound, and the victim chased after them and eventually caught up. When she confronted them, she says one of the suspects pushed her into a parked car before they fled in a vehicle.

Police have not released a description of the suspects.
