'U' Alums Embark On 'Day Of Service'

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- University of Minnesota alumni across the country served their communities Saturday.

Nearly 500,000 U of M alum from New York to Los Angeles had the chance to volunteer at various sites and show off their school pride.

The Food Group in Minneapolis helped with packing and sorting food. Open Arms in Minneapolis helped with meal prep and delivery. And Second Harvest Heartland in St. Paul distributed fresh produce to community members.

The event strives to engage U of M alumni in service to their community through one big day of gratitude.
