The Timberwolves had two second round picks, but Flip Saunders made it known publicly it was his wish to move those picks in an attempt to get back into the first round and get a backcourt player. He got his wish in a deal made with Cleveland, who had the No. 24 selection.

He's now going to start his NBA career in his hometown, some Jones repeatedly called a blessing. Jones will be the back-up point guard to Ricky Rubio.

WCCO's David McCoy sat down with Jones after the draft to talk about playing in the NBA in his home state and what life has been like since winning the NCAA title.
