Two killed in head on crash near Randolph, Minnesota

The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that killed two people near Randolph on Saturday morning. 

Officials say a 28-year-old man from Kenyon, Minnesota, in a 2016 Ram 1500 was driving the wrong way on Highway 56 when he hit a 2019 GMC Terrain head-on. 

The driver of the GMC and the single passenger were both killed, according to the state patrol. They were identified as 68-year-old Peter Olson and 49-year-old Patricia Olson, both from Apple Valley.

Investigators also say the 28-year-old pickup driver may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. The driver was air-lifted to a hospital. He suffered injuries not considered life-threatening.

Randolph is located about 40 miles southeast of Minneapolis.
