Twins Visit Mariners This Weekend

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Twins will face a team from outside the American League Central for the first time this season when then they visit Safeco Field in Seattle this weekend.

Right-hander Phil Hughes will pitch Friday night. He's drawn some tough matchups this season. But at Seattle last July, Hughes shut out the Mariners on eight hits and no walks with eight strikeouts. He's 6-and-3 with a 3.20 ERA in his career against the Mariners. Hughes will face Felix Hernandez.

Seattle is expected to compete for a playoff berth this season, but so far both teams have the same record at 6-and-9.
