Twins trade Luis Arraez for Miami's Pablo Lopez

Luis Arraez reportedly traded to Miami for Pablo Lopez

MINNEAPOLIS -- Luis Arraez has been traded to the Miami Marlins in exchange for Pablo Lopez and two others.

The Twins made the announcement on Friday afternoon. 

Arraez was signed to the Twins as a free agent in November of 2013 and has hit .314 with 77 doubles. He was the 2022 American League batting champion. 

Lopez made 32 starts for the Marlins last season. Since 2021, he has posted a 9.2 strikeouts-per-9.0-innings ration, which ranks 11th among all National League pitchers. He was named National League Pitcher of the Month last april.

The Twins will also receive infielder Jose Salas and outfield Byron Chourio in exchange for Arraez.

The Twins also recently re-signed Carlos Correa to a six-year, $200 million contract.
