Twins Reinstate Stauffer After Rehab Assignment

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — The Minnesota Twins are reinstating right-handed pitcher Tim Stauffer.

Stauffer was on the disabled list and missed 19 games with a right intercostal strain. The Twins say Thursday that he'll be back from his rehab assignment at Triple-A Rochester in time for Friday's game in Chicago.

Stauffer made four rehab appearances for the Red Wings, pitching five innings with three earned runs.

To make room for Stauffer, the Twins have optioned infielder Doug Bernier to Rochester.
