Twins Place Hicks On 15-Day DL With Right Forearm Strain

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota Twins announced Sunday that they've placed Aaron Hicks on the 15-day disabled list with a right forearm strain, retroactive to June 13.

The injury happened during pregame activities Saturday before the Twins lost to the Texas Rangers 11-7. Hicks had been hitting .247 with two doubles, one home run and two RBI in 28 games with the Twins.

The Twins replaced Hicks on the roster by selecting the contract of highly-touted outfield prospect Byron Buxton to the 40-man roster. Buxton made his major league debut Sunday in center field after starting the season in Class AA Chattanooga.
