Twins Minor Leaguer Suspended 80 Games For Failed Drug Test

NEW YORK (AP) — Minnesota Twins right-hander Adrian Salcedo has been suspended 80 games for violating baseball's minor league drug program.

The commissioner's office said Wednesday Salcedo tested positive for Tamoxifen, a performance-enhancing substance, and Heptaminol, a stimulant.

The 24-year-old had pitched in five games — one start — for Double-A Chattanooga this year, giving up two runs in 13 innings (1.38 ERA). He has 10 strikeouts and no record. His suspension begins immediately.

There have been 46 suspensions under the minor league program and five major league bans.
