Man Sentenced To 7 Years In Fatal Twin Ponds Hit & Run

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A man who struck and killed a woman with his truck before driving into a pond in Duluth was sentenced to seven years in prison Monday.

The St. Louis County Attorney's Office said a judge sentenced 31-year-old Justin Paul Linskie to 88 months after a jury found him guilty of criminal vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of the accident.

According to the attorney's office, Linskie drove his car off Skyline Parkway around 6 p.m. on Oct. 13, 2015. He struck and killed Susan LeGarde Menz, a St. Louis County employee who was photographing fall colors at Twin Ponds in Duluth.

After hitting Menz, Linskie drove into one of the Twin Ponds.

Menz was found unconscious in one of the ponds. Witnesses said they saw Linskie flee the area.
