Twin Cities Theatre Icon Don Stolz Dead At 97

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Twin Cities theatre community is mourning the death of a beloved member and icon this week.

Don Stolz died Saturday at the age of 97.  He was best known as the guiding force behind the Old Log Theatre, which he bought in 1946. It's the oldest professional theater in Minnesota. He also directed at the theater and often performed, sharing the stage with names like Lonnie Anderson and Nick Nolte.

Stolz was also known for his work here on WCCO-TV. He was the off-screen voices for "Talluah the Cat" and "Towser the Dog" on the beloved children's show, "Axel and His Dog."
