Twin Cities Jazz Festival Set June 25-27 In St. Paul

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — New Orleans piano great Dr. John and Grammy-winning trumpeter Nicholas Payton are among performers scheduled for this summer's Twin Cities Jazz Festival in St. Paul.

The 17th annual festival runs June 25-27 in and around Mears Park in St. Paul's Lowertown neighborhood.

Headliners include Dr. John and the Nite Trippers; an all-star quartet featuring Chris Potter, Dave Holland, Lionel Loueke and Eric Harland; and a new ensemble from Cuban percussionist Francisco Mela with Payton guesting on trumpet.

Local artists include the JazzMN Orchestra, the Atlantis Quartet, jazz pianist Laura Caviani and the Illicit Sextet.

The festival kicks off June 25 with the annual Jazz Night Out.
