Meet The First Twin Cities Babies Of 2018

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – We said goodbye to 2017 Sunday night, and many of us are wondering what's to come in 2018.

It took about 45 minutes for the first 2018 baby to be born in the Twin Cities metro. It happened at St. John's Hospital in Maplewood, part of Fairview Health Services. Jazlin Vang was born at about 12:45 a.m. Monday, weighing 5 pounds, 12 ounces.

The proud parents are Vangmee Yang and Jor Vang.

Hennepin County Medical Center welcomed its first baby of 2018 shortly before 1 a.m. Kalena Huynh Molina was born at about 12:58 a.m. Monday. She weighed about 6 pounds, 10 ounces at birth.
