Twin Cities Communities Gear Up For National Night Out

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – On Tuesday, people around the country will head out into their neighborhoods as part of National Night Out.

National Night Out is an annual event during which local communities host block parties that allow people meet their neighbors and get to know their local police officers.

Most community events are free, although some are fundraisers for different causes.

This year, National Night Out takes place on Tuesday, Aug. 4.

Here in Minnesota, we tend to lead the nation in participation. That, of course, includes St. Paul.

St. Paul's National Night Out Coordinator, Pamala McCreary, spoke with WCCO about some of the great events going on in the capital city for the event.
