Twin Cities Archdiocese May Sell Off Some Properties To Pay Creditors

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis says it may sell off a portion of its property in order to pay creditors after filing for bankruptcy.

The archdiocese may pursue the option to sell three of its buildings in St. Paul, including the Chancery Office on Summit Avenue. It's also looking to sell property in Northfield.

Those sales could bring in millions of dollars.

The archdiocese filed for bankruptcy last month amid more than a 100 claims by those who said they were sexually abused in their youth by Catholic priests.
