Turbo Tax Resumes State E-Filing; Still Closed In Minn.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Intuit Inc. announced that its software Turbo Tax has resumed e-filing of state income tax returns Friday afternoon.

While users can still file national refunds, the state of Minnesota still will not accept refunds filed electronically with Turbo Tax.

The company had temporarily suspended e-filing in all states over concerns of fraud after two Minnesota users reported that someone had already filed in their name.

The scare prompted the Minnesota Department of Revenue to block Turbo Tax filings, which remains closed pending further investigation.

The Minnesota Department of Revenue says the issue is with Turbo-Tax, but Intuit said it's system wasn't hacked.

"We are working quickly to verify Intuit's new security measures and their impact on Minnesota returns," department officials said in a statement. "We will work continuously until we can assure Minnesotans that Turbo Tax returns will be filed safely."
