Trump Appears On Sample Ballot After Absence Raises Eyebrows

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Republican Party of Minnesota said Thursday that it's filed the proper paperwork to get GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump on the ballot.

The announcement came after it was noticed this week that Trump and Indiana Gov. Mike Pence weren't on the Secretary of State's sample ballot. It raised eyebrows considering the deadline to file the paperwork for a major party candidate is Monday.

As of Thursday afternoon, Trump could be seen on sample ballots on the Secretary of State's website.

Michael Brodkorb, a former Republican official and one of those who noticed the GOP nominee's absence from the sample ballot, says Minnesota Republicans held a last-minute meeting Wednesday night to figure out what went wrong.

However, he says the solution the party came up with could cause a considerable legal headache if some party members object.
