Trader Joe's To Open Location In Downtown Minneapolis

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Officials with Trader Joe's announced Tuesday that the popular Twin Cities grocer is heading to downtown Minneapolis.

The grocery that features food and beverages ranging from every day to exotic has signed a lease for a new location in Minneapolis. It'll be located at 721 Washington Avenue South at the East End street level.

Officials say the space will be about 10,700 square feet and there will be a separate wine shop next door at 260 Chicago Avenue that will be about 1,600 square feet. There were also be parking spots for about 72 customers.

The store is slated to be open for business in the first half of 2017.
