Totino-Grace Student Suffering From Brain Cancer Dies

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Totino-Grace High School student Rachel Woell has died after a battle with brain cancer.

Woell, a senior at Totino-Grace, was first diagnosed when she was in the second grade.

Last October, she learned a more aggressive tumor began growing again and there were few medical options left to treat it.

Woell's parents posted news of her passing on her CaringBridge page Saturday morning.

In late August the school held a day of prayer that involved the entire community showing support for Rachel.

In August, the Totino-Grace community hosted a 24-hour Power Novena prayer to pray for Woell's recovery.
