Tornado Sirens Sound Twice Thursday For Severe Weather Awareness Week
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Tornadoes, thunderstorms and damaging hail. Minnesota gets its fair share of severe weather.
That's why the state is observing Sever Weather Awareness week.
The city of Minneapolis, along with the rest of the state, will be activating its outdoor warning sirens twice Thursday; tornadoes are the topic of the day for Thursday.
Emergency sirens are tested the first Wednesday of every month to ensure the equipment is still in working condition.
The sirens will go off around the state at 1:45 p.m. and 6:55 p.m.
