Time Running Out To Find New Spot For Taste Of Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Harriet Island is under water, so organizers with the Taste of Minnesota have had to scramble to find a new location.

Linda Maddox said this late in the game, it will be difficult to pull off.

"It's hard to come up in this short notice to get something done, with all the permits you need," Maddox said.

Maddox said they have paid vendors and others, and the festival is ready to go.

"The plans are all made. We just need a home," she said.

They are considering many options like soccer fields or baseball fields, but they don't have the answer yet.

Maddox said if they don't have a spot by Wednesday, they may very well have to cancel the event.  But don't count them out just yet.

She said she'll let folks know if they can pull it off in the last hours of the day.
