Timberwolves' Garnett To Rest Against Bulls

CHICAGO (AP) — Minnesota coach Flip Saunders says he plans to rest Kevin Garnett for the Timberwolves' game against the Chicago Bulls.

The Timberwolves reacquired Garnett in a trade with Brooklyn last week, and he had five points, eight rebounds and two blocks in 19 minutes in an emotional 97-77 victory over Washington on Wednesday night. But Saunders decided to rest the 38-year-old Garnett on Friday night for the first part of back-to-back games for Minnesota.

Garnett is averaging 6.7 points and 6.8 rebounds in 43 games this season.

The Timberwolves host Memphis on Saturday night.
