Timberwolves Bring Back Ethan Casson As CEO

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Timberwolves announced Monday that Ethan Casson is returning as CEO. He will start Aug. 8.

Casson is returning to Minnesota after spending six years as the COO of the San Francisco 49ers. He started there in 201 as the team's vice president of corporate sales. He led a team focused on creating corporate revenue with the organization's new stadium plans. That including securing a 20-year, $220 million partnership with Levi Strauss & Co. for naming rights for the stadium.

Before working for the 49ers, Casson spent 11 years with the Timberwolves and Lynx. Rob Moor, the previous CEO, is transitioning to a role to oversee the holdings and interests of owner Glen Taylor.
