Tim Pawlenty On Governor's Race: 'I'm Politically Retired'

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Former Gov. Tim Pawlenty has made it very clear about whether or not he plans to run for governor again.

In a WCCO Radio interview with Dave Lee Wednesday, Pawlenty said "I'm politically retired, Dave. I've hung it up."

Lee also asked him about the possibility of him running for U.S. Senate if Amy Klobuchar should run for governor.

"I served on the city council. I was in the legislature. I was a majority leader. I served eight years as governor and I love Minnesota. Mary and I still live there, in Eagan. In fact, we just bought a new place in northern Minnesota, so we're even more invested in Minnesota. But as far as my political career, I tell people I'm politically retired," he said.
