Thousands Run TCF Bank Stadium Stairs For Cancer Research

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Fundraisers went to new heights Saturday morning in an effort to raise money for cancer research.

More than a thousand people ran the stairs at TCF Bank Stadium in the "Climb 4 Kidney Cancer" race.

Kidney cancer is one of the most commonly diagnosed forms of cancer, killing almost 14,000 people each year.

It's almost 6,000 stairs from the field to the top of the stadium.

Money from Saturday's climb went towards local research efforts at the Masonic Cancer Center and the Institute for Prostate and Urologic Cancers.
